APSI program of research

The APSI program of research is a multi-disciplinary program with the overarching aim of preventing poisonings and improving the care of poisoned patients.

Our Objectives

The APSI program of research has the following overall research objectives:

  1. Characterise poisoning epidemiology in Australia
  2. Identify emerging trends and new substances involved in poisoning cases
  3. Evaluate the effect of public health, legislative and clinical practice interventions on poisoning rates
  4. Facilitate access to the dataset for research purposes, to better inform policy and practice.
